The European Parliament publishes a study with a strong focus on e-Signature The study examines the progress towards a digital internal market. In a first part, it focuses on the state of play and the possible revision of the Directive on electronic signature. e-Signature minimum requirements for Point of Single Contacts The European Commission published published the Decision CD 2011/130/EU establishing minimum requirements for the cross-border processing of documents signed electronically by competent authorities under Directive 2006/123/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on services in the internal market. ChamberSign contributes to the EC consultation on eID, eAuthenticity and eSignature ChamberSign submits a new position paper to the European Commission on eSignature. The paper request to carve out the public sector clause and to set up a governance model for the Directive. It requires as well to set up supervision guidelines and a European validation authority. The European Commission consults on eID, eAuthenticity and eSignature The European Commission has published an online public consultation on electronic identification, authentication, signature and related trusted services or credentials. The online consultation runs until 15 April 2011. ChamberSign teams up to support eSignature in eInvoicing No less than 45 businesses addressed a letter urging Member States to avoid weakening legal recognition of advanced and qualified electronic signatures for eInvoicing. We fear that the recent modifications to the VAT Directive will have a wider impact on the take up of eSignature and related applications based on eAuthentication and integrity. The EC plans a revision of the eSignature Directive The European Commission published its Digital Agenda for Europe. The Communication foresees a revision of the eSignature Directive in 2011. The European Commission publishes a Trusted List of CSP The European Commission has published a central list with links to national "trusted lists". The national Trusted Lists make available information in a standardised way about certification Service Providers activer who are entitled to issue certificates that allow citizens and businesses to electronically sign documents. The EU Trust List is available on a secure website in 2 formats: a human readable format and a format suitable for automated (machine) processing. The EU Trust List is updated automatically. Call for interest to join a thematic network on eID The European Commission will fund a Thematic Network over a period of 3 years. The aim of the network will be to provide a platform for all the stakeholders of eID (electronic identity) to work together and collaborate to prepare a strategy for the coming a large scale deployment of an electronic identity management (eIDM) infrastructure. The European Commission publishes a study on eSignature validation services The part 1 of the study goes into available solutions for verification and validation of electronic signatures by consulting application owners and practitioners operating Validation Services. The part 2 of the study describe the similarities and differences in the solutions found concerning the legal context, the organisational aspects, and the technical implementation aspects. ENISA reports on authenticating on the Internet with eID Cards ENISA published a Position Paper on "Privacy and Security Risks when Authenticating on the Internet with European eID Cards". PEPPOL publishes first deliverable on eSignature in eProcurement Version 1.2 of the PEPPOL deliverable 'Requirements for Use of Signatures in Public Procurement Processes' has been released.
