ChamberSign is the association of Chambers of Commerce and Industry delivering e-Signature related services.

Its mission is threefold:

  • to foster the development of an interoperable framework for e-Signature and related applications in Europe
  • to represent members and promote the sector of digital certificates at European level
  • to facilitate the exchange of information and good practices within its members

ChamberSign Europe is an association created in 1999 by national associations of Chambers of Commerce. At the moment, it groups CCI from Austria, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Romania, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom.

In 2007, ChamberSign partners kicked of the Wesign project with a co-financing of the European Commission. The strategy is to enlarge geographically the ChamberSign network and to increase the number of applications available with the objective to create a critical mass of end users. With this increased legitimacy, ChamberSign can take a leader role in lobbying public administration on the way forward for interoperability.
